The final project for my Technical Editing class at Auburn University involved an extensive edit of an article written for Auburn Speaks, a campus publication that showcases faculty research and writing. We were tasked with editing our articles in congruence with the Auburn Speaks Style Guide, which was in turn loosely based on the Chicago Manual of Style. Part of the learning outcome of the assignment involved learning how to work with authors through the editing process. The following documents highlight some communication to the author of the piece on selected editorial choices I made, with the intent to seek feedback from the author. The PDF version contains all tracked changes made to the article.
